Who races loses!

The Hamburg District Court decided in April 2019 to withdraw not only his driver's license but also his motorcycle from a motorcyclist. The vehicle, a Yamaha MT-10 with 160 hp, is now to be auctioned. The also imposed fine of 2400 euros is more of a no brainer. The judgment is final. One objection was withdrawn.

What happened? The 22-year-old driver drove his motorcycle at 129 km / h within Hamburg in November 2018. Before that, he had already been noticed in other ways with significant speed violations. On the A 23 he allowed himself a speed of 148 km / h at a permitted speed of 60 km / h. He also raced through Pinneberg at 120 kilometers per hour.

Further comments are superfluous. The numbers speak for themselves and against the 22-year-old, who seems to be completely resistant to instruction. It is therefore logical that, in accordance with the new legal provisions of Par. 315 d / f StGB, the ride is classified as a race and there is thus the possibility of confiscating the motorcycle as a crime.

One can only hope that the driver will now have a certain level of insight. Maybe that's the only punishment he understands. And a signal for possible imitators.
